Let me introduce myself
Hi! Hello! I’m Maddy, and I’m glad you found me. If you’ve found yourself here, that means you’re at least a little interested in me. What I’m doing on this website is writing and photography. In the debate of which came first —the chicken or the egg —the photography came first for me. In High School, I started with photojournalism and family portraits on the weekends. Moving to the University of Kansas, I got my BFA in photography. I dove into long-form creative projects, art show installations, artist statements, and film photography. As somebody who thinks all the time and loves writing, I started a blog. At times, it may read as a dump of word vomit, but at other times, I find myself being the voice of 20-year-olds living in 2025. Diving back into photography, I want to do it all. Concerts, portraits, creative shoots, headshots, ETC. You name it— I’ll shoot it. Don’t be shy, send me an email!
I grew up in the suburbs of Kansas City and went to college at the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk). My partner and I moved out to Denver, CO, following graduation. I started out working as a real estate photographer and was soon dumbfounded at how quickly the gig drained the creative life out of my eyes. I’ve found myself in between corporate marketing jobs, barista jobs, and of course, photography. It’s taken some time to grasp my footing in adulthood, especially living in a new state, but I’ve found myself now excited to reignite my spark for photography. I’m not sure where this will all lead to but what I do know, is I want to create art.
Hobbies. We all have them, we all need them, and we all love them. Let’s talk about it. I started running in April of 2025 to move my body and to release all the rage this 5-foot girl can hold. I’ll be running my first half-marathon in May 2026! Woo! I’ve been an avid Sims player ever since we got the origional Sims on a CD in the early 2000s. Woo-Hoo, am I right? In the past few years, I’ve gotten back into reading for pleasure, something I hadn’t done since elementary school! My genre of choice is mystery with a dash of grotesque horror. Romance just does not cut it. I have two orange tabby cats who are my whole world, Gumbo Taylor and Chili Jason. They are my life, it’s serious. I live with my partner of 5.5 years, Grace! We love the Real Housewives, playing games on the PS5, and cooking new recipes. Being a CO citizen, it’s now my duty to hike and camp in the Rockies! If any of this interests you, we’ll get along just fine.
